Day hike to Mirador Base Las Torres

⭐️SAVE this for your trip to Patagonia⭐️

Also called the Base Towers Hike, this hike is challenging but SO rewarding, especially if you go for sunrise

Length: 12.5 - 14 miles if you start at the welcome center (final mileage depends on how much you want around at the top and at lookouts)

Difficulty: challenging!! Come prepared with plenty of food, water, warm layers, and a headlamp

🚨IMPORTANT🚨 the welcome center will not be open when you start your hike and there will be no rangers in the park until it opens - so if you go for sunrise, do this hike at your risk and be prepared

There are some places in the world that just don’t feel real, and Torres Del Paine is one of them

Tips for visiting ⬇️

🚙 I personally recommend renting a car - having a car gave us the freedom to go wherever we wanted, whenever we wanted. Not having to worry about the bus schedules is a bonus too

🌧️ pack a LOT of layers - the weather changes constantly, so make sure you have layers to stay warm and dry, especially a rain jacket

🍎 pack more snacks and food than you think you’ll need - the park is pretty remote and the hikes can be long, so it’s better to be prepared

Watched the base towers light up for sunrise ☀️

We woke up around 1am to drive from Puerto Natales to the Torres Del Paine welcome center to start hiking to the Mirador Base Towers

This hike is 12.5 miles if you start from the welcome center, but our final mileage was closer to 14 after walking around at the top and stopping at lookouts
