Smith Rock State Park reminded me so much of Zion National Park ⛰️

If you’ve been following along for a while, you know I LOVE the Utah parks, especially Zion. This is the perfect spot to feel some of the magic of the Utah parks while being in the heart of the Pacific Northwest

We hiked the Misery Ridge trail and the trek to the top is no joke, but the views are so worth it

We stumbled upon this hike after attempting (and failing) to access the No Name Lake trailhead, but it ended up being the most gorgeous hike!

TIP: Make sure you have a high clearance four-wheel drive vehicle if you want to access some of the more remote hikes in the Deschutes National Forest - and have a backup hike planned just in case

Itinerary Details👇🏻 Day 1 - start your trip

Itinerary Details👇🏻

Day 1
- start your trip by exploring downtown bend - there are lots of cute shops and the Patagonia store is a must. Get lunch at Bend Brewing Company
- hike or drive to the top of Pilot Butte (depending on how much time you have) for a great view of Bend. End the day with dinner and drinks at Monkless Brewery

Day 2
- wake up early and grab a quick breakfast and coffee before driving to Tumalo Falls. I recommend getting a burrito at the Burrito Sunrise food truck
- Do the moderately difficult hike to Moraine Lake via the South Sister Climber trail
- end your day with dinner and a drink at Deschutes Brewery downtown

Day 3
- grab breakfast and a coffee at Sparrow Bakery - the pastries are amazing!
- head to Smith Rock and spend the afternoon hiking Misery Ridge. If you’re into rock climbing, this is a great spot for it
- treat yourself to a nice steak dinner at Rancher Butcher Chef
